David Shane is a communications strategist. As President of Resolution Communications, his own firm, he advises chief executives and senior leaders in media, entertainment and technology, helping companies and their stakeholders through IPOs, crises, reputation challenges and business transformations.

Before starting the firm, he was Chief Communications Officer of the largest global independent film and television studio, responsible for corporate communications across its theatrical, television, sports and digital divisions. His earlier roles include Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications at International Creative Management (ICM), one of the world’s largest talent and literary agencies and now part of CAA, and Vice President of Corporate Communications at Comcast, where he led communications strategy for the company’s largest division.

In technology, he led global corporate and government affairs communications at Hewlett-Packard when it was the world’s largest technology company, handling communications for nearly $20 billion in mergers and acquisitions and the regulatory issues around them. He started out at CBS News in Washington, D.C.

David holds a B.A. in Communications and History from the University of Pennsylvania. He is an Emmy Award winner, a guest lecturer on communications at New York University, and an Associate Instructor in the Department of Communication at the University of Utah.
